Rene R. Mascarenas - 1931 - Cathedral High School became mayor of Juarez, Mexico in the 1950's. René Mascareñas Miranda (1913-2002) René Mascareñas was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Sonora, Mexico. The family moved to the border when his father took a position with the Mexican customs service. Mascareñas attended school at Palmore College and Cathedral High School, and obtained an accounting degree from the National University of Mexico. Involved with cotton farming, cattle ranching, residential construction, banking, and other businesses, Mascareñas was President of the Juárez Chamber of Commerce in 1954. He served as Presidente Municipal de Cd. Juárez from 1956-1959, overseeing a period of civic growth and development fueled by the PRONAF border industrialization program. He and his wife formed a philanthropic foundation to provide scholarships for Juárez students and funding for cultural events.

Francis S. Ainsa Sr. - 1931
Francis S. Ainsa Sr. - 1931 He was a descendent of two pioneer El Paso families. Attended Cathedral High in El Paso. Received Law degree from Harvard 1940 and served in the Army during WWII. He was primarily a real estate lawyer 1947 to retirement in 1995 with offices in Bassett Tower, Represented the Diocese of El Paso 1947-1980. He was married for 61 years to Evelyn Fraser Ainsa, El Paso artist, Per obit El Paso Times 10 Oct 2001 pg 2 B
