Hector Holguin Jr. was born on 15 October 1935 at Hotel Dieu Hospital of El Paso which was operated by Catholic Nuns, Many expectant mothers from Juarez would come to this Hospital for the birth of their children. Hector Jr. shares his birthdate with his father Hector Trinidad who was born on October 14th.

Father and Son

Hector Trinidad Holguin with his son, Hector Jr. in 1938 at their first home in on Alamogordo (now Yandell), near the railroad tracks. A few blocks away, on Piedras St., there was heavy traffic due to Sears, the largest store in El Paso of the era. By 1940, Hector and Antonia were able to move to a safer neighborhood with quality schools.

Mother and Son
