Ayuntamiento

Imagen de la esquina de las calles Myrtle y San Antonio en la década de 1910 a 1920. Uno de los edificios más respetables de la ciudad de El Paso, era el del ayuntamiento. Fue construido en 1899 en la intersección de las calles Myrtle y el este de la avenida San Antonio y estuvo en servicio hasta 1959. Esta estructura neoclásica fue construida para reemplazar el edificio original del ayuntamiento que había estado localizado entre la avenida Overland Este y calle Santa Fe Sur. Este edificio del ayuntamiento tenia un gran domo en la cima. El estilo clásico esta basado en el Jefferson Memorial y el edificio del capitolio de los Estados Unidos que se encuentran en Washington, D.C. Esta versión del ayuntamiento tenía una gran potencial como sitio histórico, ya que se encontraba en un terreno en forma triangular que poseía un gran espacio para pasto y árboles que dan sombra. Pero al igual que el edificio anterior, éste también fue demolido y los empleados del ayuntamiento reubicados en otro local.
