Este mural fue creado por los adolescentes en el Sistema de Libertad Condicional Juvenil bajo la dirección de Jesús Alvarado. Las Américas ya cuenta con una maravillosa obra de arte en la gran tradición de los muralistas chicanos. Las Américas es un Centro de Defensa del Inmigrante en 1500 E. Yandell Dr.. Se trata de una cosecha propia, sin ánimo de lucro dedicada a servir a las necesidades legales de los inmigrantes de bajos ingresos, incluidos los refugiados y las mujeres maltratadas. Clientes de Las Américas son en su mayoría, pero no sólo, de México. El puerto de entrada-El Paso ve el segundo mayor número de personas que cruzan a Estados Unidos por tierra, sólo superada por San Diego. El Paso es también un importante corredor para los cruces ilegales. Los inmigrantes de todo el mundo a menudo terminan en El Paso a través de formas de contrabando rotonda y el personal de Las Américas han ayudado a los clientes de países tan lejanos como Birmania y Camerún.
