Inducted in 1998 Joined the El Paso Diablos as Assistant General Manager in 1975 Named General Manager in 1980 Became President of El Paso Diablos in 1998 Helped the Diablos organization earn numerous awards Earned President’s Trophy in 1986 which is Minor League Baseball’s top honor for an administrator Also earned the MacPhail Trophy in 1976 and 1993 for promotions and civic involvement Diablos earned “Franchise of the Decade” award for the 1980’s Earned Special Recognition Award for Achievement in 1974 from the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame Served on the Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Played football for the UTEP Served as coach for Miners following his football playing career Stated that, “Bringing professional baseball to our community and serving the people of El Paso has been not only a great challenge but a personal joy”.
