Arturo fue primo hermano de Rosa Guerrero, una conocida educadora y maestra de El Paso que también está documentada en Digie. Sus respectivas madres fueron hermanas. Josephine Sánchez nació en Morenci, AZ (1932) de José Andrés Sánchez (un minero de Phelps Dodge) y María de Refugio Chavira, ambos de Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, México.
