"Shining Desert Suns: Dador y Tomador de Vida" - El Paso, Texas

La bola de Susan Klahr es titulado "Desierto Luminoso Suns: Dador y tomador de la Vida" ("Shining Desert Suns: Giver and Taker of Life"). Esta escultura fue parte del "Arte y Sol" proyecto: artistas fueron seleccionados para interpretar una composición escultórica Sol utilizando sus estilos únicos y estrategias creativas. De la fantasía a la culturalmente cargadas, de lo abstracto a lo figurativo, el proyecto es un ejemplo de la gran variedad de visiones que hacen que El Paso del cuadro de diálogo muy convincente. Este sol explora dualidad, gracias a los archivos binarios, tales como la vida y la muerte, los hombres y mujeres. Klahr incorpora numerosos símbolos en el trabajo, que incluye tanto un sol masculino y femenino. El niño en la base es el resultado de la unión de ambas fuerzas. Granadas e higos, que tradicionalmente simboliza muerte y renovación en el arte, también aparecen. La imagen representada en la parte lateral de la base es también importante. Sacado de un siglo 14 alquimia tratado, dispone de un conflicto entre masculino y femenino, representado por el sol. Susan Klahr fue un gran pintor de El Paso quien murió en diciembre de 2009, debido al cáncer de ovario.
