Plaza San Jacinto en 2011

Plaza San Jacinto por ser el centro de la comunidad de El Paso. Uno puede ver tres edificios históricos situados en la Plaza. En el centro a la izquierda en la parte delantera de Wells Fargo, es el Cortez edificio, construido en 1911 por Henry C. Trost, caracterizada por una mezcla de estilos y detalles decorativos. En el centro-derecha, en el borde norte de la Plaza, se puede ver el edificio Roberts-Banner construido por Trost, que abrió en 1910. Se caracteriza por su estructura de hormigón armado y su forma de U. El edificio Kress junto a él se edificó en 1937 y diseñado por Edward Sibbert. Es un hermoso y colorido edificio. San Jacinto Plaza es también conocida como la Plaza de los Lagartos. Este nombre se refiere al tiempo (1889 - 1965), cuando los lagartos habitan un estanque en el centro de la Plaza. Debido a actos de vandalismo que se tuvo que retirar. Ahora un vidrio escultura de Luis Jiménez recuerda a los caimanes. Muestra cuatro lagartos se puede ver en la imagen.
