Thomas J. Beall
Thomas J. Beall, un distinguido abogado representante legal de varias empresas en El Paso, nació en Thomason, Georgia, el día 12 de mayo de 1836. La familia se traslado originalmente de Virginia. Sus padres, el Dr. Jerre y Susan B. (Neal) Beall, eran ambos nativos de Georgia. El Capitán Beall adquirió su educación clásica en la Universidad de Tulane en Nueva Orleans y se preparó para la profesión de abogado en la Universidad de Cumberland en Lebanon, Tennessee, de la que se graduó como pasante de derecho en febrero de 1858. El mismo año ingresó en el bufete jurídico Marshall y fue admitido en la corte Suprema del estado en 1859. Él es, pues, uno de los abogados más antiguos de Texas y el bufete jurídico de Davis y Beall, establecida en Bryan poco después de la guerra, y posteriormente con el nombre de Davis, Beall y Kemp, en El Paso en 1876. Kemp-Smith (firma original de Bealls) es uno de los bufetes de abogados más antiguos que aún operan en el Paso.
