Skip Laven was chair of El Paso Commission for Women. She was in the WAVES according to her obit in El Paso Times. She and her husband published the Fort Bliss newsletter for many years.

Mary Yanez was staff at El Paso Community College's print shop. She was active in LULAC. In later years she hosted a TV program to meet the needs of senior citizens in El Paso, Texas. The TV show was titled Mature Living Mary is member of El Paso Women's Hall of Fame.
