Capt. Featherstone at Ft. Riley

Lt. Col. Featherstone attended the Basic Course at the Cavalry School at Ft. Riley as a Captain in 1921. This was a transitional time for the U.S. Cavalry, which was slowly adopting the "Forward Seat" for jumping, seen here.

Outside jump at Ft. Riley

Capt. Featherstone was part of the Basic Class of 1921, Cavalry School at Ft. Riley. He is riding "Forward Seat" over the jump, a style relatively new to the U.S. Cavalry.
