R. Ewing Thomason- Mayor 1927-1931
R. E. Thomason was the mayor of El Paso from 1927-1931. El Paso County's Hospital District was named Thomason Hospital in his honor for 50 years. In 2009 it was renamed University Medicial Center, or UMC.
