Ector A. Garcia featured in the 54th Anniversary Bowie HS Homecoming Booklet was born and raise in El Paso TX and graduated from Bowie HS in 1947. He went on to serve in the military where he was an aviation cadet, and earned a degree in advertising and commercial art. Working free lance he Created "Casper The Friendly Ghost" cartoon. Ector A. Garcia then became a police officer for the LAPD and among other duties would draw composite descriptions of suspects. He was later wounded and lost sight in one eye.
