The New Clock, located at 8409 Dyer, has provided residents with friendly service and delicious meals that have kept generations of El Pasoans coming back for more since the 1970s. With its unique decorations and numerous clocks along the walls, it has long been an area staple, city Rep. Carl Robinson said. 'I love to eat there for breakfast,' Robinson said. 'It's one of the best-kept secrets in town. It stays busy all the time and on weekends, you have to wait in line. It's just a very popular cornerstone for the Northeast.' Over the years, it has changed ownership and the decorations have changed, but the $1.99 breakfast special has remained the same. Owner Fernando Hernandez intends to keep it that way. 'I think that, along with the great food, is what keeps people coming back,' Hernandez said. 'I mean, in comparison to other places in town, this is where you get the better deal.' Hernandez and his wife, Adriana Hernandez, took over the restaurant 11 years ago. Since then, his wife and three daughters have helped him run it. 'I love to cook,' Fernando Hernandez said, smiling. 'And usually when you enjoy what you do, things just turn out better. I've always been a cook, and a while ago, I decided that I wanted to own a restaurant...'"
