Bonnie Resler Karlsrud

Bonnie Resler was born in Akron, Colorado, but was brought to El Paso, Texas by Dale and Nona Resler when she was six weeks old. Bonnie went to Dudley School and El Paso High School before enrolling in College of Mines in El Paso. Since she was a mid-term graduate from high school, she went to summer school at Mines for three summers to make up a semester. She transferred to Southern Methodist University her junior year. Upon graduation from S.M.U., Bonnie went to work for her dad as secretary - receptionist in the combined offices of Carlsbad Cavern Coaches and El Paso White Truck Sales Company. She continued working there until she married Quentin "Karl" Karlsrud in 1955. Bonnie had started singing in the choirs at Trinity when she was sixteen, and took up where she had left off when she returned to school. She also became involved in the Chapel Class with her mom as sponsor of the class. Bonnie has three children, Kaye, Gary, and Ken. She and her husband Karl have resided in Boulder,Colorado for forty-seven years. Since she has family and friends who live in El Paso, she comes back to visit often.
