JLEP-Music Therapy for the Elderly 2020-2021 Project
JLEP-Music Therapy for the Elderly 2020-2021 Project
Music Therapy for the Elderly completed its 31st year in a way never envisioned. The Good Time Singers had to take a break this season as the pandemic surged and area elder care facilities closed their doors to visitors. To stay connected, we created a Pen Pal letter program in which JLEP members, Good Time Singers and their families wrote friendly messages on note cards and delivered personal care baskets filled with travel-sized toiletries, puzzles, and coloring books. The committee rounded out the year with a collaboration with the El Paso Opera and their #CurbsideOpera program to provide small performances at many elder care facilities around the city.
