description
EPMA has been celebrating Dia de los Muertos for two consecutive years now. All families are invited to enjoy live music performance, free hands-on art workshops, food from local businesses among other fun activities. The highlight of 2019 Dia de los Muertos was the Alebrijes Parade, where the museum debuted four custom alebrijes sponsored by the El Paso Museum of Art Foundation. The alebrijes were created by an artist collective from Mexico City, Mexico, Collectivo Ultima Hora whose art was featured in the James Bond movie, Specter. Alebrijes are folk art sculptures of mythical or fantastical animals.
