15 APR 1948 - MAKES A DIFFERENCE - City, police, and El Paso Electric Co. officials took part in a ceremony Wednesday night at Piedras Street and Alameda Avenue, when the one lighting system went into service. Watching distant traffic (left to right) were Police Chief L.T. Robey; President F. Carter Womack of the utility company; Alderman Karl Wyler, Police Inspector J.W. FitzGerald; Alderman Jules Carlin, and W.V. Holik, electric company vice-president.
