Attended Lincoln Junior College and Coles Vocational School in Kansas City, Missouri. Took various extension courses while in Europe as an Army dependent. Graduated from Durham Business School. Employed at Fort Bliss, Texas as an accounting technician in the Finance and Accounting Office. Has twenty-five years of Federal Civil Service. She is the mother of one child, Lewellyn C. Cox who also attended Douglass School. "Tweet", as Mrs. Brown is called is a member of Friendship Baptist Church, past president of the Missionary Society, secretary of the Senior Choir and the Church Clerk.
